Travels details

Day 1 : Bangkok

After departure from Bangkok in the early evening, settle into your comfortable compartment. The maître d’hôtel will inform you the time for dinner. Later you could enjoy a drink after dinner in the piano-bar. Meanwhile, your compartment will be transformed into a cosy bedroom by your steward.

Day 2 : Wang Po

Awake early in order not to miss the excitement of the train making its way from Wang Po along the wooden trestle viaduct beside a towering cliff. Breakfast will be served by your steward in your cabin. On arrival at the River Kwai Bridge station you will be escorted for a short walk down to the jetty to board a local raft for a cruise along the lush greenery of the picturesque Kwai Yai River. Back on board for lunch. In the afternoon you could admire the breathtaking views from the Observation Car. For the aperitif or after dinner drink you could go to the Bar Car and listen to the piano-bar playing. In your absence, your steward would have prepared your cabin for the night.

Day 3 : Butterworth

Breakfast will be served by your steward at a time arranged the day before. Arrival in Butterford. Transfer to Penang Island. Guided tour of historical city Georgetown including a partly visit by trishaw. Return to the train for lunch in the Restaurant Car. In the late afternoon, view the fascinating ever changing scenery from the Observation Car. Enjoy your aperitif and/or a drink after dinner in the piano-bar. Overnight on board.

Day 4 : Singapore

In the morning and after breakfast the train arrives in Singapore Kappel Road Station.
